About the Renewable Energy Scholarship Foundation

His work addresses two critical environmental challenges: plastic pollution and sustainable energy production, by transforming waste into valuable resources. He also contributes to community outreach efforts focused on sustainability education, through an interdisciplinary approach that blends chemical engineering and environmental science.
Mathangi Venkatesh
Mathangi Venkatesh, a senior in chemical engineering at the University of Washington, received the $1,000 RESF Scholarship for her research on membrane technology to remove PFAS and salt from drinking water.
Her project supports cleaner, safer water solutions through cost-effective and energy-efficient methods. She is also actively involved in mentoring younger students and volunteering with environmental education groups, that reflect her strong commitment to community impact and environmental health.
